The third International Conference on Somali Language and Literature opened at Somali National University, welcoming over 200 scholars from 18 countries. The conference theme is “Af Soomaali: Heritage, Innovation, and Global Reach.”
Over 45 papers will be presented covering classical Somali poetry, oral tradition preservation, Somali language in digital media, diaspora literature, and language policy.
A special session will launch the SNU Somali Language Corpus — a digital database of over two million words of written and transcribed oral Somali.
